Today I wish you courage.
Did you know that “fear not” appears 365 in the bible?
When facing difficulty, fear that things will get worse can cripple us and cause us to isolate ourselves. We may find excuses to stay home from festive events. We may even pretend we are busy in order to avoid facing events that may remind us of a loss or a difficult time we faced before. We may sometimes be afraid to let go of what hurts out of guilt. Whatever the reason. The command to “fear not” lets us know that God provided us with the courage to do what seems impossible. We have Immanuel (Matthew 1:23).
Jesus is a gift with a guarantee, “In this world you will have troubles. But I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). He guarantees that when we abide in His love, we will overcome.
