Recently a friend showed me a reverse poem and I could hardly wait to try it out. I am in a season of hopefulness (my nice way of saying things aren’t exactly going my way) and I needed a pick-me-up. This was a fun way for me to encourage myself. This is my attempt at reverse poetry.
Sorrow didn’t win
Because Light lives in me
The flame of forever burns
Brighter than the darkness lurking near
Pain is just a shadow
Illuminated by Love
Escorting the tears I shed
Leaving through the door marked “Not Welcome Here”
Deep sighing lost today
Because the joy of the Lord arrived
Breathing hope into my situation
Once cloudy skies are clear

3 Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.
