Prayer Bells

Prayer bells are ringing
They’re calling out,
“Rise up, Prayer Warriors,
Lift your voice and shout!”

“We repent, make us whole.
We repent and seek Your face.
We honor Your name,
Oh, Ancient of Days!”

Listen to the bells
They’re calling out to you.
Rise up, Prayer Warriors,
There is work to do.

Daniel 9:17-19 (VOICE)

17 Now, God, please hear the prayers and petitions voiced today by your servant. Shine Your face on Your destroyed and desolate sanctuary for the sake of Your name, my Lord. 18 Lend an ear, my God, and hear this prayer. Open Your eyes and see our deserted streets and witness the devastation across thecity that bears Your name. We are crying to You and asking for mercy, not because we are righteous and deserve it. No, we bring these petitions to you because we know of Your great mercy. 19 Lord, hear our prayer! Lord, forgive our sins! Lord, pay attention to our plight and act without delay, not for our sake, my God, but for Yours because these people and this city bear Your name.

Anointed Thoughts

Anoint me with Your oil
Remind me who I am
One who overcomes
By the blood of the Lamb.

No accusation of the enemy
Can cause me to flee
The blessings of Your presence
That always comforts me.

Let Your oil flow
Sanctify my mind.
Not my will, Lord,
But let it be Thine.

I dreamed of a little girl last night who had trouble following instructions. She had heard people say how bad she was from an early age and she decided to live up to their expectations.

A caring adult took her by the hand and showed her how to find her way. When I woke I heard the words, “Thou anointeth my head with oil.”

Here is the lesson…

Your head needs anointing because it encompasses thoughts, beliefs, and imagination. Thinking thoughts of destruction, revenge, and running away when trouble comes can destroy individuals and families.

Believing the negative words or images you see can shake your faith. The enemy wants you to believe it is hopeless to trust God. The enemy will help you imagine all sorts of things.

You will imagine you can face life without Holy Spirit. You will think you have power to make decisions and succeed on your own. You might even think you don’t need the Word to guide you.

Anointing your head with oil sanctifies your mind. The anointing helps you pull down those imaginations. The anointing helps you surrender your will in exchange for His.

Psalm 23:5 (NIRV)

You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head. My cup runs over.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (TPT)

We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.

The art and poem are spiritually inspired originals. The devotional is an excerpt from My Utmost for His Highest.

“If you have become bitter and sour, it is because when God gave you a blessing you hoarded it. Yet if you had poured it out to Him, you would have been the sweetest person on earth.

If you are always keeping blessings to yourself and never learning to pour out anything “to the Lord,” other people will never have their vision of God expanded through you.”

Night Nonet

Released from the blanket of sweet sleep
I awake to the brilliance of night
To find myself drawing close
To hear what You will say
To know Your deep thoughts
For those You love
For the one
Who draw

Psalm 63:6-7(TPT)

I lie awake each night thinking of You
and reflecting on how You help me like a father.
I sing through the night under Your splendor-shadow,
offering up to You my songs of delight and joy!

Autumn Morning

Alone in the morning

Not alone at all

The Master met me here

In the colors of fall.

Deuteronomy 31:8 New International Reader’s Version (NIRV)

8 The Lord himself will go ahead of you. He will be with you. He will never leave you. He’ll never desert you. So don’t be afraid. Don’t lose hope.”

A Call to Rest

Stop, listen, did you hear that?
A voice so sweet, but loud and clear.
“Draw near and hear.”

Pause, lean in, did you catch that?
A whisper so loud it practically screams
“Come closer and glean.”

Sit, turn your ear, are you ready for this?
A message so ancient, it newly awoke
“Linger here and soak.”

Matthew 11:28-30 The Message (MSG)

28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

An Altar Call

Turn around, respond to the sound
Nothing greater can be found

Than setting aside the world so wide
To be the Bride

Of the Most High, who won’t deny
The apple of His eye

The joy of His presence, the peaceful essence
Of loving acceptance

Found in the secret place, at the altar of grace
As you seek His face.

Psalm 95:6-7 (NLT)

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for He is our God.

We are the people He watches over, the flock under His care.

If only you would listen to His voice today!

A Sunday Morning Song of Praise

92 A poetic praise song for the day of worship
1 It’s so enjoyable to come before you with uncontainable praises spilling from our hearts! How we love to sing our praises over and over to you, to the matchless God, high and exalted over all!
2 At each and every sunrise we will be thanking you for your kindness and your love. As the sun sets and all through the night, we will keep proclaiming, “You are so faithful!”

Bowls of Joy

The Lord has done great things for us
And we are filled with joy!

He heals our broken hearts
Saves us from despair.
He protects us from evil
He knows our every care.

He opens blinded eyes
He gives us ears to hear.
He conquers our enemies
We have no need to fear.

No longer are we captive
No longer cast away.
We have life through the Son.
He gave us this great day.

The Lord has done great things for us
And we are filled with joy!

Psalm 126:3

I discovered a long time ago that the key to having joy is to live with a thankful heart. We won’t stay miserable for very long when we start counting your blessings.
Sorrow and misery won’t linger when we start praising our Heavenly Father for who He has been for us. Joy will overtake us when we start thanking Him for all things.
Yes, thank Him for the troubles, pains, and storms. It is during the difficult times our faith is strengthened. We may be weak at those times, but He shows Himself strong on our behalf. Thank Him for that.
There people who are worshiping deaf gods who can neither see them nor hear them. But the God and creator of all things knows each one of us by name and He loves us very deeply.

That is reason to be joyful.
