Love Letter to God #18

God of all creation,

Things are happening in our nation
You didn’t ordain.

Your children are bickering
Unbelievers are snickering
Because our light is flickering.

You saw this coming
You sent us a warning
And what’s so alarming

Is we ignored you
Acting like we adored You
But our behavior abhorred You.

Now we are facing
An opportunity so amazing
It could be the defacing

Of the enemy of truth.

Help us not miss
What’s at the root of this
Division and crisis.

On our knees we fall
Confessing it all.
We’re appalled

By the dimness of our light.
We’re almost out of sight!
We need You to ignite

Us again.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

The Broken Pieces: Haiku Chain

The broken pieces
Of a shattered heart and soul
I offer to you

Disappointment screams
Failure, defeated, alone
You silence them all

A touch from Your hand
Renews, restores, refreshes

Let Me Write Your Freedom Song

Let Me write your freedom son
You cannot do this on your own.

What you release to Me
I can make into your new melody.

What is trying to keep you down
I can rearrange into your new sound.

Let Me write your freedom song
So that you can rise to where you belong.

What you choose to retain
Won’t fit into this new refrain.

What you think you control
Isn’t yours to hold.

Let Me write your freedom song
So that every stanza flows along.

Every failure you choose not to forget
Doesn’t fit in the rhythm I have set.

The things that cause fear and anxiety
Are not the notes released by Me.

Let Me write your freedom song
And fill you with a love so strong

It will stir your spirit and cause you to dance
To the sound of a new romance

With Me.

The Sound of Freedom by CiMo

In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and His children will have a refuge.

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.

Love Letter From God #9

Daughters and sons,

What has you bound?
What has our countenance down?
What has you crying yourself to sleep?
What has you thinking you’re in too deep,
That I can’t reach
Where you’re found?

I Am the answer to what concerns you.
I Am the One who knows what to do.

Exchange you addiction
For the power of my Spirit.

Exchange your need to control
For the freedom of My Love.

Exchange the fear in your hearts
For the courage My Spirit imparts.

Exchange what has you distracted
For My Word that is still active.

Exchange despair for hope
Exchange anger for joy
Exchange what is temporary
Exchange what can destroy

For the plans I have for you.
You don’t have to carry anything alone.
I Am your Abba, the Holy One.

Trust Me

Love Letter From God #8

I’m singing over you

A song of love

A song of faith

A song of hope.

I’m singing your story

A melody of favor

A melody of provision

A melody of healing.

I’m singing over you with My word

A verse of deliverance

A verse of wisdom

A verse of freedom.

I’m singing over you with a new sound

A rhythm of confidence

A rhythm of courage

A rhythm of victory.

Steal away to listen

Quiet your mind

Open your heart

Then dance to you freedom song.

Lord your God is with you,

the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in His love He will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.

Love Letter to God #13

Oh My Lord,

There was a sound.
It was loud, proud, and unbowed
That came from my lips.

It was all about me
What I could do, should do, would do
I left You out.

But You gently reminded me
That You are the One, the Sun, and none
Can compare to You.

Your love never fails
And we can trust, that You are just, and we must
Know You and Your ways.

You have a plan
To make things right, give us light, and You delight
When we seek to understand You.

That all our hope is found
With you, who are true, and will renew
Our strength.

Thank You Mighty One,

Your Beloved

Springs of Grace

Come, my child, and sit.
Listen to what I have to say.
I will give you hope
And grace for today.

I have plans for you
Waiting to take place.
When you stop and look
I will show you springs of grace.

Yesterday I finished a devotional plan I was following in my Bible App and wanted a new one to start today. So I asked the Lord to give me one to write. As I waited for His response, I heard “springs of grace”.

When I heard the word spring, I thought of a stream of water then the season between winter and summer. But when I asked the Lord what He meant, this is what I heard,

Springs of grace are moments in your day when I suddenly reveal my thoughts and plans for you. People usually consider spring as the season between winter and summer or a stream of water. But spring as a verb is suddenly moving forward or upward. It’s a taking off suddenly after being held back.

I want to do those things for you. I have plans that will get you moving forward. It’s not always easy to recognize those moments but they are happening all around you. I have equipped you and provided you with a Helper and have given My angels charge over you. Be careful to pay attention throughout the day. Watch for the “suddenly’s” of my grace.

If you need help recognizing the suddenly moments, ask Me to help you. All you have to say is, “Open my eyes so I can see.” Jesus prayed often for His disciples and I revealed things to them others missed. You are mine and I will do the same for you.

I admit there are times when I don’t recognize the subtle ways God is revealing Himself to me so I asked what He means. Here are a few things that came to mind.

  • a smile from an infant (reminding us we are pleasing to Him)
  • a greeting from a toddler eager to share a joyful moment (reminding us all our needs are provided for)
  • an unexpected call from a distant relative or friend (reminding us He hears our prayers)
  • a verse of scripture that comes to mind at the time when we need it most (reminding us that His word is a guide for us)
  • a song on the radio that touches our heart (reminding us that He knows and cares about what we are going through)

There are many others, but we have to be intentional in watching for His hand. He is constantly working on our behalf.

Watch for the springs of grace in your life today and give thanks for them. They are always there.

Matthew 11:25-26 NLT

Jesus’ Prayer of Thanksgiving

25 At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. 26 Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!
